Pir-O-Murshid Hazrat Inayat Khan
1882-1927
Open our hearts, that we may hear thy voice, which constantly comes from within. Disclose to us Thy Divine Light, which is hidden in our souls, that we may know and understand life better. ~From the prayer ‘Khatum’
Hazrat Inayat Khan was asked by his spiritual teacher to unite the East and West through his music and to bring the ideals of spiritual and religious unity to the western world. His teachings and message continue to be cultivated today through several sufi branches, one of which is the Sufi Ruhaniat International.
“Sufism is the religion of the heart. The religion in which the most important thing is to seek God in the heart of mankind.” –Hazrat Inayat Khan – Gathekas
